Preamble

We the students of South Middle School student council,  in order to establish a positive school environment, would like to promote good behavior, to have high academic standards and to show respect and cooperation to our staff and fellow students. 

 Mission Statement:

We are dedicated to inspire and empower others to make changes personally and socially. We focus on being positive role models through our words and our actions, both in and out of school. It is our responsiblity to listen to, support, and communicate with the student body. We make decisions based on the needs to improve our learning community. We realize that each individual possesses gifts to share, we welcome differences and diversity,we are willing to show that we all play a small part in the big picture.  

Middle School Student Council:

1. Student Council is an extra-curricular activity offered to students in sixth through eighth grade.

2. The Student Council plans and carries out middle school service projects, dances, social events, celebrations, and activities   throughout the school year.

3. The Student Council is a student-run government consisting of a president, vice- president, secretary-treasurer, and representatives.

4. The Student Council holds a regular meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of the month throughout the school year.
