School
At South, entry doors #1 and #6 will be unlocked at 6:45 for student and staff arrival and locked shortly after the start of the school day each morning. All other doors will remain locked. We ask that your student arrives to our building no earlier than 7:15 each morning unless they have a pre-arranged supervised activity that starts prior to that.
Evening activity schedules and door control will not change. Doors necessary for afterschool activities will be unlocked at 2:45 and be secured at the end of the evenings activities.
Visitors to South Middle School during the school day are asked to arrive at door #1 and ring the buzzer. The attendance staff will screen visitors prior to admittance, because the ladies are often working with students (our number one priority), we ask for your patience while waiting for them to respond to your “buzz.”
Once admitted, visitors are to report to the attendance office prior to carrying out the business of their visit. We understand the natural behavior is to hold the door for others, but please do not let visitors, not in your party, in with you. Alternately, if someone has been admitted ahead of you, please remain outside until you are contacted by the attendance staff.
