Meadowview Playground - We’re expanding!
We are planning to put in a new large play structure this summer. For the past 11 years Meadowview parents have saved box tops and milk tops to raise money for a playground. The PTO has diligently put the money into a separate fund that has now reached a level allowing the purchase of one piece of equipment. We also received $1200 from the 2013 Meadowview Mile which we will be using as well.
To reduce the cost of the structure, we are looking for parent volunteers to assist in the installation of the structure. If you are interested in assisting with the installation, you can either email Greg Axness (firstname.lastname@example.org) or sign up at the Spring Music Showcase. Once an installation date is known, Greg will reach out to you to see if you are available for that specific date.
Donations will be accepted and drawings of the future playground pieces will be on display at the Spring Music Showcase and Volunteer Appreciation this Wednesday, June 11th. Donations may also be sent to school with your child. Please make checks payable to Meadowview PTO (write “Playground” on the memo line).

Free Rides to Library
Eau Claire City Transit and the Public Library are teaming up to provide children and teens free trips to the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays this summer from June 3 – August 28. Accompanying adults must pay full fare. For safety purposes, groups of 15 or more should call ECT prior to riding. If you don’t know where to go or how to catch a bus, call ECT at 715-839-5111.
The Eau Claire County Fair, July 23-27
On Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26, we have two days with a special focus on KIDS! From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day we will be featuring inexpensive games (prize EVERY time), as well as face painting and balloon sculpture. Each of these activities requires one 25¢ ticket. There will also be a great petting zoo for just a 25¢ ticket, as well as free educational exhibits. In addition, there will be “Public Safety Services” displays in which the children can learn about medical, fire and public safety services, including being able to “tour” the related vehicles – ambulance, fire truck, squad car, etc. Horse drawn wagon rides around the grounds will take place Sunday from 11 am - 2 pm (weather permitting).
