Montessori School Supply List

2013-2014

Children’s House 4K

These items will be pooled together to create a classroom supply source to be used cooperatively throughout the school year. Do not label these items.

  • 1 packages small/6" 100 count white paper plates
  • 1 package small/6" 35 count (or more) paper bowls
  • 1 large box of Kleenex
  • 1 bottle dish soap
  • 1 4-6 pack of plain O-cel-o or Niagra brand rectangular sponges
  • 1 box thin tip markers
  • 2 glue sticks
  • 1 bottle of glue
  • 1 box colored pencils (full length)

These items need to be clearly labeled with your child’s name.

  • 1 plastic/laminated 2 pocket folder (plastic folders are more durable): solid colors, no designs—label with the child’s name in upper right corner
  • 1 backpack or school bag large enough to easily fit a folder (no character designs please)
  • 1 pair of ‘Croc’ style shoes to be used as slippers (no button decorations)
  • a complete change of clothes (plus an additional pair of underwear)

  • 1 box broad tip markers
  • 1 box colored pencils (full length)
  • 2 glue sticks
  • 1 package large cotton balls (not synthetic) – RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY
  • 1 box Crayola crayons 8 count (regular size) – RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY
  • 1 box 2-2 ½ gallon size Ziploc storage bags – NEW STUDENTS ONLY
  • 1 box Crayola crayons 24 count – NEW STUDENTS ONLY

These items need to be clearly labeled with your child’s name.

  • tennis shoes with non-marking soles for use in the gym to keep at school
  • 1 beach towel (to be used as a blanket for rest time)—neutral design
  • 1 travel size pillow (no pillow pets)
  • 1 travel size pillow case (optional)

 

 

2013-2014 Montessori School Supply List

Elementary I (Levels 1, 2, & 3)

Place these items in a large Ziploc bag labeled with your child’s name so they can use them as they are needed throughout the school year. A lot of these can be found at the Dollar stores.

  • 1 large eraser
  • 1 pencil sharpener
  • 1 package of pencil top erasers
  • 8 glue sticks (Elmer’s or Scotch please)
  • 1 bottle Elmer’s glue
  • 2 large boxes of Kleenex
  • 24 Ticonderoga Pencils (#2) (these are much better quality than the others and will last longer)
  • 1 water bottle (to be kept in locker)
  • **Please, no rubber pencil grips**
  • If your last name starts with A-M: 1 box sandwich size Ziploc bags
  • If your last name starts with N-Z: 1 box 1 gallon-size Ziploc bags

All first time E1 students will need the following list of supplies. All returning E1 students will need the following list of supplies, but may reuse items from last year if in good working condition, including last year’s notebooks, if they still have empty pages. Be sure these are labeled with your child’s name.

  • 1 plastic box without lid—no larger than 11 inches wide, 12 inches tall and 14 inches deep – buy early
  • 2 plastic pencil boxes
  • 1 Fiskars child-size scissors
  • 1 rigid ruler (with inches and centimeters)—NOT bendable or metal
  • 1 box of markers
  • 24 colored pencils
  • 1 box of 24 crayons
  • 1 pack of wide-ruled, loose-leaf paper
  • 5 WIDE ruled spiral notebooks – blue, green, red, yellow (or orange) & purple (or black). Please try to get wired with no perforated pages.
  • 2 plain colored plastic pocket folders (one used for take home folder)
  • 1 large backpack or school bag
  • 1 insulated cooler or lunch box (if bringing lunch from home)

Additional items for 3rd Level Students Only. These items need to be clearly labeled with your child’s name.

  • 1 METAL compass (Fiskars is best)
  • 1 Protractor
  • 1-1" binder

 

 

 

2013-2014 Montessori School Supply List

Elementary II (Levels 4 & 5)

Place these items in a large zip-lock bag labeled with your child’s name so they can use them as they are needed throughout the school year.

  • 2 big erasers (the pink kind!)
  • 8 glue sticks 
  • 2-24 packs of pencils (#2) — NO pens or mechanical pencils, please

These items will be set aside to be used by the classroom all year.

  • 4th graders: 1 large box of Kleenex
  • 5th graders: 1 box of quart-size Ziploc storage bags

These items need to be clearly labeled with your child’s name:

  • 2 – Sturdy folders with 2 pockets
  • 4 – Wide ruled spiral notebooks – 1 of each color: yellow, red, green and blue
  • 1 – "Composition" notebook (heavy covers, marbled design)
  • 2 – Spiral bound graph paper notebooks
  • 1 – Flash drive
  • 1 – Plastic, pocket folder with child’s name and the words "take home folder" on the cover
  • 10- Clear plastic sheet protectors placed inside the 1" binder
  • The following supplies may be reused or replaced, if necessary. Label each with your child’s name.
  • 1 Rubbermaid-10.3x10.9x16.3 inch clear view storage box with lid (19 quart)—buy early
  • 2 plastic pencil boxes (for example, "Cool Box" or "Spacemaker")
  • 1 plastic pencil sharpener (with "cover" to catch shavings)
  • 1 quality scissors (child-size may be too small!)
  • 1 ruler (with inches and centimeters)
  • 12 colored pencils
  • 1 box of 24 crayons
  • 1 Compass (make it a good one!)
  • 1 Protractor
  • 1 1" Binder & 1 pkg. of pocket dividers for the binder
  • 1 large backpack or school bag
  • 1 insulated cooler or lunch box (if bringing lunch from home)
  • 1 pair of tie shoes for gym, if not wearing tennis shoes that day

Thanks for your hard work in securing these items with your child. Each of the items is intended for a specific purpose, and your child’s experience in the classroom is so much easier when they have all the necessary materials.
